Good day and happy new year friends. I noted on social media, that as I took a walk with Buddhi, and came across this ole, tattered black feather, which seemed to have gone through a wicked storm. I received a personal message from it, but also a reminder to practice gratitude on that last day of 2022.
I guess I could’ve written a new year astrological forecast along with a lengthy post about my feather experience, but I decided that between business, clients, preparing for the holidays, holiday shopping, taking care of mom, etc., that I was just too darn pooped to think and write too, so I embraced the short break that I longed for.

With Mercury stationed retrograde on Thursday December 29, the new year began with the potential of experiencing complications and breakdowns in areas of communications and connections, computers, fax machines, emails, relationships, phones, technical devices, written letters, lost paperwork, vehicles and large machinery.
During the three week cycle of Mercury retrograde, be aware and stay on the lookout for discombobulations and blunders of strained conversations, misunderstandings, heated debates and/or possible arguments. For genuine answers that can produce change and long lasting solutions - focus on being open-minded, in order to listen, understand and learn. Make an effort to step back in time. Rewind to remember and reflect on the last few weeks. Review words, along with the approach taken. Refigure, recalculate and revise - to correct what was an error - that may have been misinterpreted, or a mistake on your part. Think about improving connections - then ‘say it’ or ‘do it’ with sincerity and kindness

As Venus moved from Capricorn on Monday January 2, and into eclectic Aquarius for four weeks - there can be a strong interest in breaking rules, orders and systems - as a way to promote freedom and independence, for unity. General relationships, romantic affairs and professional partnerships need some space to breathe. We may choose to be rebellious and uncompromising because of unresolved miscommunications… or, we can raise our frequency, by utilizing an agreeable Venus/Mars trine on Monday January 9. Dare to be brave. Express what you want, while sharing what you’re willing to give back in return.

As cosmic shifting is taking place, Mars will station direct on Thursday January 12. Energy and creativity begins to speed up again, to move us through resistant challenges - if we’re willing to improve our communication skills and perspective - with the help of a receptive Sun/Neptune sextile Friday January 13 and a cooperative Venus/Uranus square Saturday January 14. There’s also an opportunity to return to where we left off at the end of October, to gain flexibility, humor and ambition - rather than remaining unreliable, frustrated and sharp tongued.
Similar to the message received from the tattered feather - make mistakes and move forward - to rise back up like the phoenix. Let go of an old war, in order to be transformed. It’s time to rewrite your story, as a new journey awaits.
